Welcome at Global Biking Initiative e.V.
The Global Biking Initiative e.V. was founded early 2009 after a very successful first GBI where more than 50 people cycled in six days from Düsseldorf in Germany to Newbury in the UK. Those cyclists raised with this event more than € 23.000.- for various charities around the world.
Since then we organise every year a larger cycling tour across Europe with participants from all over the world and with the objective to raise as much fund as possible for different charities. These GBI events are supported by Sponsors to enable the participants to focus on raising fund.
In 2009 e.g. 200 participants cycled from Milan over the Alps to Düsseldorf and raised more than € 100.000.-, in 2010 more than 260 people managed the tour from Prague to Düsseldorf and handed at the end a check of € 211.000.- over to the charities and in 2011 265 cyclists from 18 countries raised more than quarter of a million (263.000.-) for the good cause.
Enjoy your visit on our online presense. Find out more about our organisation, our recent events or our global footprint or the charities we are supporting around the globe!

Eamonn Condon, an Irish college, but now working for VF Qatar, has kindly agreed to taking over from Rachel. He is in charge with immediately effect and will be single point of contact for all requests in Qatar going forward.
